Sorry if I spelled her name wrong.  Irina has the ticket stubs under her pillow I think and she's still a sleep.  cheesy

We arrived late, but only missed the first song.  One of these days we're going to leave early enough to arrive before the show starts. 

Alla was wonderful and we enjoyed the performance very much.  Our only complaint was that she stopped too soon.  2.5 hours is not enough.   for you  But then this show was all Alla unlike Valeri's show with the dancers to entertain while he changed costums.  All in all it was well worth the 7+ hours (RT) travel to see her.  We arrived home around 3 ...

Piranha caught in Siberian river


A fisherman in the Siberian city of Barnaul returned from the river Ob with a pretty shocking catch on the end of his hook: a piranha, Itar-Tass news agency reports.

The predator fish that inhabits the Amazon and some other Latin American rivers weighed 634 grams.

The scientists at the Altay State University say the Black Piranha, or Serrasalmus Niger, got into the waters of Ob as a result of a joke from some aquarists.

May 9th is Victory Day in the FSU.  It is marked by celebrations, parades and weeping as the dead are remembered for their ultimate sacrifice.

May we never forget the sacrifices made by military and civilian alike.

The USSR casualties:

9 Million military KIA/MIA
300,000 wounded
19 Million Civilian deaths

The greatest human losses...were suffered by combatants and civilians of the Soviet Union and China. In the near two-and-a-half year siege of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) by the German forces, 1 1/2 million Russians alone died from shelling, bombing, disease and starvation, a figure that exceeded all the military casualties of the  ...

Trust-- Faith .... how does a Russian woman fall in love?


Just tonight I was reminded of how much I am in love (I am not ashamed in the least to admit this to the world) but this got me thinking....

for the female and also for the male, you just begun correspondence

What sets apart 1 male/female from the next?
What makes you decide to write the first letter to the female, or what makes you respond to the first letter for the male?

Trust/Faith .....are easy answers,  (and for us males' another answer would be "she looked HOT!!!")

So..... what was it that got us (males) to write the first letter and was this the SAME reason you fell in love with her?

Homeless Russian films to star at Cannes


A homeless man from Siberia made a movie about himself and his relations with the outer world. The erotic-philosophical movie was sent to Cannes, and now he is awaiting an invitation to the renowned film festival.

Leonid Konovalov is not a director or a famous actor, not a script writer, nor a producer. He is a homeless resident of the Kemerovo Region, Siberia. However, he did not only make a movie – he managed to send it to the Cannes Film Festival!
